Class of Central Division Square off Tonight
December 21, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - In the final game before their holiday break, the Central Division-leading Rockford IceHogs (18-6-2-1) host the Milwaukee Admirals (18-9-1-0) at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7 p.m.
The first 2,500 fans in attendance at tonight's game will receive a Teuvo Teravainen bobblehead courtesy of Dental Dimensions. 10 bobbleheads autographed by Teravainen himself will randomly be inserted into the giveaways.
Tickets remain for tonight's game and can be purchased online, by calling 815-968-5222, at the BMO Harris Bank Center box office, or at any Ticketmaster location including Walmart.
Tonight's contest will be broadcast live locally on WIFR's Justice Network on 23.3 and online at AHLLive.com. Television coverage kicks off at 6:30 p.m., with the IceHogs Warm Up pre-game show. A free audio feed is available via WXRX.com or by using the new IceHogs app. For instant updates throughout the game, follow the IceHogs on Twitter (@goicehogs).
Rockford has gone 2-1-1-1 in five contests versus the Admirals, winning their last meeting on Dec. 18 in Milwaukee by a 6-2 score. The IceHogs dropped a 3-2 overtime decision on Nov. 7 in the only meeting between the two squads at the BMO Harris Bank Center this season.
Jeremy Morin enters tonight's game riding a four-game point streak (3g-3a) which has vaulted him in to the team lead in points (8g-11a-19pts). The left winger has picked up a goal in each of his last three games and assisted on Erik Gustafsson's shorthanded tally that forced overtime against the Chicago Wolves on Dec. 19.
Rockford will try to stay out of the penalty box, as they allowed three power play goals in seven opportunities in the overtime loss to the Wolves on Saturday. The IceHogs racked up 95 penalty minutes in that game, and lead the Central Division with 462 penalty minutes.
Marek Mazanec has started four of the five meetings between the IceHogs and Admirals, and has taken the win three times. Mazanec holds a 6-6-1 record, a 2.88 save percentage, and a .901 goals against average this season.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 26 vs. Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. The IceHogs welcome the Admirals back to the BMO Harris Bank Center after four nights off for the holiday break.
