Wolf Pack Weekly

March 21, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

The Wolf Pack took three out of a possible four points in a pair of Atlantic Division road battles this past week. On Friday night in Manchester, the Pack suffered a 2-1 shootout loss to the Monarchs, running their record to 4-2-0-1 against the division leaders. Then on Saturday evening at Lowell, the Wolf Pack erased 1-0 and 2-1 deficits on their way to a 3-2 victory. The Pack currently maintain a second-place standing in the Atlantic, four points behind Manchester and nine points up on Lowell.

Alexandre Giroux surpassed his pro career high with his 25th and 26th goals of the season over the weekend. Lawrence Nycholat notched assists in both games, giving him 35 helpouts on the year. That total ties him for second among AHL defensemen, just two off the league lead. Steve Valiquette (1.77) and Jason LaBarbera (1.86) still sport the top two goals-against averages in the AHL, and are second and third in the league in save percentage, with marks of 93.4 and 93.3 respectively.
