HARTFORD, November 9, 2007: Northland AEG announced today a season-long partnership among the Hartford Wolf Pack, The Bret H. Chernik Amputee Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
For every penalty minute the Wolf Pack receive at home during the 2007-08 regular season, The Bret H. Chernik Amputee Foundation will donate $3.00 to the Wounded Warrior Project, which assists severely wounded service members and their families in Connecticut. The goal of this affiliation among the three organizations is to raise public awareness of the needs of severely injured service men and women and their families, and to enlist the public's aid in meeting those needs.
This season-long promotion will kick off at the Wolf Pack's home game at the Hartford Civic Center tomorrow night, Saturday, November 10th (7:00 faceoff), against the Albany River Rats, with Bret Chernik participating in a ceremonial puck drop. In honor of Veterans Day and this new partnership with The Bret H. Chernik Amputee Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project, the Wolf Pack will be offering $10 tickets to military personnel and veterans who show their military ID at the Civic Center box office Saturday night.
The Bret H. Chernik Amputee Foundation was formed in 1998. Bret was an aspiring hockey official when he stopped to help a stranded motorist and was hit by a car, which resulted in the amputation of his left leg.
