IceHogs make pair of transactions before weekend set

Rockford, Ill.- With a three-game weekend looming and a banged up defensive core, the Rockford IceHogs received some relief on Friday. Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced that defenseman Danny Richmond was assigned to the IceHogs. Also, IceHogs General Manager Al MacIsaac announced that Rockford has signed defenseman Jonathan Paiement to a PTO after he was loaned to Rockford from the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL).

Richmond had appeared in one game for the Blackhawks this season and had not scored. He has appeared in 43 games in his NHL career posting three assists with 73 penalty minutes. As a member of the Blackhawks, Richmond had played in 32 games with two assists and 66 penalty minutes.

Richmond was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Anton Babchuk back on Jan. 20, 2006. Last season, the Chicago native played in 57 games with the Blackhawks top affiliate in Norfolk, compiling 10g-24a-34pts while racking up 144 penalty minutes.

Paiement is currently skating in his second season in the pro ranks. In eight games with Texas, the blue-liner had six points and a team-leading plus/minus rating of +6. Last season Paiement tied for the Wildcatters team lead for points (43) from the defense.

Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 9 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Rockford returns to the big orange box to take on the Griffins. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive a transistor radio from Maverick Media. For tickets call (815) 968-5222.
