Dakota Wizards News Release

Bismarck, N.D. (Mar. 5, 2012) - With the Wizards up just one point and 6.7 seconds left in the game, Idaho's Tony Bobbitt stole the inbounds pass and called a timeout in which they did not have. The result, a technical foul and Wizards ball as Mo Baker closed out the game making all five of his free throw attempts and a 101-97 Dakota Wizards victory. Baker finished the game with a triple-double scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists on the night.

The Dakota Wizards started the game off much better than the day before as they raced out to an early seven point lead (18-11) on a Stefhon Hannah three point basket. Dakota would go up by as many as 11 and ended the quarter with their seven point lead, 26-19. Idaho would get within three points in the second but Dakota closed out the half on a 14-5 run to end the half up 53-38.

The Wizards kept the pedal to the metal to start the third and increased their lead 20 points with 7:54 left in the quarter. Idaho's David Bailey tried to cut into the Wizards lead himself, scoring 11 of his team high 22 points in the third as the Wizards lead 76-64 heading in to the final frame. Idaho mounted their comeback in the fourth. A Jordan Brady 3-pointer cut the Wizards lead to two points with under a minute remaining in the game. Baker was clutch at the free-throw line finishing off the Stampede.

Edwin Ubiles scored a team-high 22 points to go along with 7 boards and 7 assists. Hannah chipped in 20 points in the win.

Mikki Moore and David Bailey paced the Stampede, both scoring 22 points on the night.

Dakota improves to 20-16 on the season while Idaho drops to 16-22. Dakota heads west for a weekend battle with the Bakersfield Jam and Los Angeles D-Fenders before returning home next Wednesday to take on rival Sioux Falls Skyforce.
