Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks have signed Steven Alldridge, a 15-year-old forward from the Northwest Territories the team had placed on its protected list in July 2011.
Alldridge plays for the Pursuit of Excellence AAA Midget U18 team, based in Kelowna, British Columbia, in the North American Prospects Hockey League. In 34 games this season, he has five goals and eight assists for 13 points.
Last season Alldridge played for the Notre Dame Bantam AA team in the Regina (Saskatchewan) Midget Tier 2 League, and posted 29 goals and 31 assists for 60 points in 28 games played.
"Steven had a very good training camp for us and has continued to make tremendous strides this season playing for the Pursuit of Excellence program," said Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. "We believe he has the potential to be an excellent player in the WHL, and we're excited he's joining our organization."
Alldridge will finish the season with Pursuit of Excellence and is expected to join the Winterhawks next season.
