
Seattle wins over Kelowna

The Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 in a shootout Saturday night in Western Hockey League action at Prospera Place.
Kelowna shooters went 0-for-3 in the shootout against Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard while Kelowna goalie Adam Brown surrendered a single goal to take the loss.
Colton Heffley opened the scoring with his 4th of the season, scoring an unassisted marker in the first period. Seattle tied the game early in the second on a goal by Burke Gallimore.
A scoreless third and overtime followed before Seattle shooter Colin Jacobs scored the only goal of the shootout
The Rockets and Seattle will play the back half of a home and home series on Sunday in Seattle in a 5:05 start. It's the first of three straight on the road for the Rocktes as next weekend they will play a pair of games in Prince George. Kelowna returns home Feb. 8 to play Seattle.
