Winterhawks Players To Skate At Frozen Westmoreland Park Pond Friday
Published on December 10, 2009 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
Many of the Winterhawks' players grew up playing hockey on outdoor rinks in the frigid Canadian winters. Tomorrow, those childhood memories will be revisited when several of the Winterhawks' players take to the frozen pond at Westmoreland Park in Southeast Portland at 11 a.m.
The pond at Westmoreland Park has frozen over during the cold snap that has enveloped the city this week, and the Winterhawks will take advantage of the conditions as several of the players will take the ice, if weather and ice conditions allow, tomorrow at 11 a.m. Fans are invited to Westmoreland Park to watch the players, and if they bring their skates they'll have the opportunity to hit the ice with the team.
The best sports entertainment value in the northwest are Winterhawks 10+10 Packs: 10 tickets and 10 Hawk Eyes hats starting at just $12 per person. Contact the Winterhawks at 503-236-HAWK (4295) or seats@winterhawks.com for more information.
