Winterhawks Announce Roster Moves
September 19, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks have announced two roster changes prior to Saturday evening's season opener in Kent. Goaltender Evan Fradette has been reassigned to his midget AAA team in Alberta and forward Connor Barley has been released.
Fradette (6'2", 202) was drafted by the Winterhawks in the fifth round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. He led all AMHL goaltenders in save percentage during the 2017-18 season.
Barley (5'11", 183) was released as the team meets the league limit of three overage players on the opening night roster. The Manitoba forward was called up last season and joined the Winterhawks during their 2018 playoff run.
The Winterhawks roster is currently at 27 players. Portland opens the 2018-19 season at home against the Seattle Thunderbirds on September 29th. Individual tickets are on sale now at winterhawks.com/tickets. Be sure to secure your seat for the home opener at the Moda Center.
