Swift Current Broncos News Release
The Swift Current Broncos home opener presented by Pioneer Co-op is coming on Friday, September 21st vs. the Saskatoon Blades at the Innovation Credit Union I-Plex. Doors will open at 6:00pm and there will be a variety of activities for all ages prior to puck drop. The Pioneer Co-op Kidz Zone will be located in the lobby and that will include various games and small prizes to be won. The SPCA will also be present and give fans the opportunity to get sparkle tattoos to display their Bronco pride. Additionally, the Broncos are executing their first Happy Hour Friday of the season where drinks and appetizer specials are only $5 apiece from 6:00pm - 7:00pm so be sure to head out early. Perogies will be the first appetizer special of the season.
Best of all, the Swift Current Broncos are excited to hoist their WHL Championship Banner in a special pre-game ceremony that will commence at 7:00pm. We strongly encourage all fans to arrive at the rink early and enjoy the festivities prior to game time.
NEW ADDITIONS
Swift Current has had a long successful track record of showcasing unique theme jerseys that the team dons on one or two game night per year. The trend will continue into 2018-19 as the team will wear a special commemorative jersey on Friday, November 2nd vs. the Lethbridge Hurricanes as part of Bronco Strong Night. In conjunction with the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL, the Swift Current Broncos and Humboldt Broncos will wear a 'Bronco Strong' jersey in remembrance of the 1986 Swift Current Broncos bus crash and 2018 Humboldt Broncos accident. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada is coming to Swift Current on Saturday, February 9th when the club faces off against the Saskatoon Blades for a special 5:00pm start time. Again, the Broncos will be donning a special themed jersey representing Canada during the game. The club will have several initiatives taking place with Bronco and NHL Alumni as this event will be a four-day event scheduled from February 7th to February 10th. The Western Hockey League in conjunction with the Swift Current Broncos are happy to bring back 'WHL Suits up with Don Cherry to Promote Organ Donation Presented by RE/MAX on February 22nd vs the Moose Jaw Warriors. The players will once again be 'donning' a unique Don Cherry inspired jersey while there will be many other promotions to come on that game.
THE RETURNING CLASSICS
Of course we have our traditional fan favourite promotions coming back for another season. On Saturday, December 1st, the Broncos welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings for their annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by Pattison Agriculture with proceeds going towards the Salvation Army. Fans are strongly encouraged to bring teddy bears, toques and mitts to donate and toss on the ice the moment the Broncos net their first goal of the game.
Crescent Point Minor Hockey Night returns on December 28th while the entire family can join us for Charlie Horse's Birthday presented by Safeway on Saturday, February 15th when Swift Current hosts the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex.
To wrap up the regular season, Fan Appreciation Night will take place on the final home game of the 2018-19 regular season on Friday, March 15th against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The evening will be full of giveaways left, right and centre going out to you, the fans! The 2018-19 Broncos Awards ceremony highlighting Team MVP, Rookie of the Year amongst others will be presented both before and after the game.
Some of the favourites regarding intermission promotions will be returning but be on the lookout for new exciting on-ice intermission and radio timeout promotions to come.
TICKET DEALS
Two for One Tuesdays in always an attractive option for any type of fan. The deal is simply two tickets for the price of one so take advantage of that deal on any Tuesday regular season home game.
Wiener Wednesdays are back as well. Treen Packers partners up with the Broncos once again as the concessions will have hot dogs on sale for only $3.50 each on all Wednesday evening contests.
Happy Hour Fridays are coming to the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex. Appetizer specials and alcoholic drinks are only $5 from 6pm-7pm.
