
Nolan Volcan Named Team Captain

KENT - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Bil La Forge today announced the team has named left wing Nolan Volcan team captain for the 2018-19 season.
"Nolan exemplifies our identity as a team," said head coach Matt O'Dette. "He is a veteran that has thrived in our culture and will be an example to our team."
"We have a core leadership group in our room," continued O'Dette. "We will alternate assistant captains at the start of the season and the 'A' on the jersey will be a reward for the guys that earn it. We anticipate guys will step forward and earn the 'A' on the jersey full time."
Volcan is the 35th captain in team history. Turner Ottenbreit was the team captain during the 2017-18 season.
Volcan is starting his fifth season with the T-Birds and had played in 263 career games with 73 goals and 101 assists for 174 points. In 49 career playoff games Volcan has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points.
The T-Birds start the 2018-19 Western Hockey League regular season against the Portland Winterhawks on Saturday, September 22 at 6:05pm at the accesso ShoWare Center.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2018-19 home opener are currently on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.
