WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem Dash exploded for 10 runs as they secured a series victory against the Asheville Tourists.
It started in the top of the first, when Bryan Ramos doubled to score Duke Ellis**.* Then in the second, *Alsander Womack** launched a solo home run to make it 2-0 Dash.
Asheville got things rolling in the second inning.
AJ Lee fell behind 1-2 in the count but got a pitch to hit and sent it out to right field, good for a game tying two-run home run.
The Dash were able to string together a series of hits in the third inning.
Luis Mieses got the lead back with a double to score Luis Curbelo**.* An *Adam Hackenberg** sacrifice fly added another run, then Womack picked up another RBI on a single which plated Mieses.
Mieses was seeing the ball very well in this one, he doubled in the fourth to score both Duke Ellis and Bryan Ramos, giving the Dash a 7-2 lead.
Jason Matthews joined the party for Winston-Salem in the fifth inning with an RBI single to score Womack, and then Ellis drove Matthews in with a two-run bomb to make it a 10-2 ballgame.
Chad Stevens and Zach Daniels both cracked solo home runs for Asheville in the fifth and sixth innings respectively, but the Dash bullpen put up zeroes from there en route to a 10-4 Winston-Salem win.
Jesus Valles earned the win for Winston-Salem, while Alfredi Jimenez took the official loss.
