Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash dropped game two of a six-game series to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 7-1, on Wednesday evening at Truist Stadium in front of 2,024 fans.
Winston-Salem (2-3) starter, Tyler Schweitzer, made quick work of Greensboro (3-2) across the first two innings but ran into trouble in the 3rd. The Grasshoppers loaded the bases with one out in the frame before Temarr Johnson walked bringing home a run and Charles McAdoo drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the next at-bat giving the visitors a 2-0 lead.
Greensboro extended its lead in the fifth with five straight hitters reaching base and two more runs being walked home giving the Grasshoppers a 5-0 advantage.
The Dash offensively could not figure out Greensboro pitching until the ninth while trailing 7-0, pushing across a run in the final frame but fell to the Grasshoppers, 7-1.
The Dash and Grasshoppers meet for game three of a six game series on Thursday evening. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. from Truist Stadium.
