DASH PLATE SEASON-HIGH 17 RUNS

Thanks to a season-best effort at the plate, the Dash crushed the Salem Red Sox 17-3 on Saturday night at Haley Toyota Field. Winston-Salem's 17 runs were the most for the club this season. The Dash's performance on Saturday also marked the first time since July 20, 2018, at Carolina that the franchise scored 17 runs in a game. Tyler Frost and Jameson Fisher each had four hits, and JJ Muno and Evan Skoug recorded three hits apiece. Muno drove in a career-high five runs while Skoug drove in four. After taking a 7-2 lead through seven, the Dash plated 10 runs over the final two innings.

CHECKING IN ON THE FIRST-ROUNDER

Nick Madrigal, who was selected with the fourth overall pick in last year's draft out of Oregon State University, went 1-for-4 in Friday's loss over the Red Sox. Madrigal's 2019 season batting line now sits at .261/.335/.354. The 22-year-old is in his second year playing for the Dash. Madrigal joined the team at the end of last year, posting a .306 batting average and a .355 on-base percentage in 26 games played. Before joining the White Sox system, Madrigal was a star for the Beavers, winning Pac-12 Player of the Year as a sophomore.

STEPPING INTO THE SPOTLIGHT

Skoug, who was a seventh round pick by the White Sox in 2017 out of TCU, has now homered in back-to-back games for Winston-Salem. A native of Libertyville, Illinois, Skoug has now driven in six runs over his last two games. Prior to joining the Dash, Skoug played in 18 games for Low-A Kannapolis, posting a .172 average. During his time with the Horned Frogs, Skoug was a middle-of-the-order bat from 2015-17, playing an integral role for three straight College World Series teams.

AS CONSISTENT AS THEY COME

Thanks to his four-hit effort, Fisher has now upped his team-leading OPS to .841. A former fourth-round pick out of Southeastern Louisiana University, Fisher is posting a batting line of .364/.473/.532 in 21 May games.

THE ZACH ATTACK

Along with leading the team in batting average (.305), Zach Remillard is second on the team in OPS (.794) and wRC+ (132). The 25-year-old has also posted hits in 19 out of his last 21 contests. Overall this month, Remillard is recording a .373/.471/.493 batting line over 20 games. Before being drafted in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Remillard was an integral part of the 2016 College World Series Champion Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, leading the team with 19 homers.

CHARGING TO THE MOUND

Right-hander Jorgan Cavanerio will make his third start as a White Sox farmhand on Sunday at Haley Toyota Field. The Venezuela native was signed by the White Sox as a minor league free agent on May 10 after he was released by the Seattle Mariners. Prior to joining the Dash, Cavanerio pitched for Double-A Arkansas in Seattle's system, going 2-0 with a 7.88 ERA in seven outings. Cavanerio has also pitched in the Marlins system during his time in the Minors.

GREAT TO SEE YOU, RED SOX

For the first time this season, the Dash are squaring off against the Red Sox High-A affiliate, the Salem Red Sox. Entering play on Sunday, the Red Sox are 18-29, good for last place in the Northern Division. Despite finishing below .500 and missing the Carolina League playoffs a season ago, Salem boasted the 2018 CL Most Valuable Player in Bobby Dalbec.

SEBY STRONG

Former Dash catcher Seby Zavala made his big league debut on Saturday for Chicago, striking out in his only at-bat at Minnesota. Zavala played for the Dash in 2017. In his first at-bat with Winston on June 24, 2017, against Buies Creek, Zavala hit a grand slam. In 55 games for the Dash, the 25-year-old hit .302/.376/.485 with eight homers and 38 RBIs. A 12th-round pick in 2015 out of San Diego State, Zavala played under the late Tony Gwynn in college. Prior to his call-up to the White Sox, Zavala hit .218 in 21 games with the Knights.
