WINSTON-SALEM DASH (8-9, 38-48) vs. WILMINGTON BLUE ROCKS (8-8, 41-43)

RHP Angel Sanchez (first start with W-S) vs. RHP Miguel Almonte (5-3, 4.17 ERA)

5 p.m. - BB&T Ballpark (Winston-Salem, N.C.) Game #87 (Home Game #43)

ROCKS WALK PAST DASH ON SATURDAY The Wilmington Blue Rocks sent another stellar crowd home unhappy on Saturday night thanks to their 3-2 win over Winston-Salem at BB&T Ballpark. In the ninth inning, Ramon Torres coaxed a bases loaded walk to push across the run of distinction against Zach Isler. The Dash could not take advantage of another sensational outing from Terance Marin, who matched a career high with eight innings. His lone blemish was Cody Stubbs' two-run homer in the sixth. Offensively, Jason Coats led the way with three singles and two runs scored, but the Dash are hitting just .159 (10-for-63) in the series.

ANOTHER RECORD-SETTING NIGHT The Dash set a BB&T Ballpark attendance record with their draw of 8,184 fans on Friday night, and the franchise followed this up with a crowd of 6,541 on Saturday. Thus, the two-day total of 14,725 is the highest in franchise history. Winston-Salem is second to Frederick in overall (170,430) and average (4,370) attendance in the Carolina League. The Dash surpassed the 1.4-million mark in BB&T Ballpark's four-and-a-half year history with Saturday's sellout crowd.

BREAK THE BROOMS Since BB&T Ballpark opened in 2010, Winston-Salem boasts a 190-133 (.588) record at home. The Dash have collected 19 sweeps at the downtown facility, yet the club has only been on the wrong end of two sweeps during that span. Wilmington could earn the third sweep in this the 97th series at BB&T Ballpark. Winston avoided a BB&T Ballpark sweep for its first 81 sets before Salem took all three from August 14-16, 2013. Frederick did the same in a rain-altered three-game series from April 16-17 of this season.

FIRST IN LAST The Dash have spent six days in the second half with at least a share of first place in the Southern Division. However, Saturday's loss and Salem's 3-2 win at Carolina have sent the Dash into last place for the first time since the All-Star break.

DeMICHELE'S STREAK ENDS Winston-Salem infielder Joey DeMichele could not push his hitting streak beyond 14 games thanks to an 0-for-4 showing on Saturday night. This hit streak was the longest by a Winston-Salem hitter since Marcus Semien rattled off 18 consecutive games with at least one knock from April 23-May 12, 2012. DeMichele hit .315 (17-for-54) with six RBIs and five runs during the run. The Phoenix native fell two games shy of the longest hitting streak on the circuit in 2014. Both Carolina's Erik Gonzalez (April 8-24) and Lynchburg's Kyle Wren (May 28-June 12) recorded 16-game hit streaks.

MARIN THE GROOVE Terance Marin turned in another strong outing. Marin, who made six excellent appearances for independent Evansville between his stints with the White Sox system, has surrendered just three earned runs in his 26 innings as a starter for the Dash. Three of the Newman, Calif., native's first four starts have spanned at least seven frames, something he had never done previously in the Minor Leagues.

WINCING-SALEM Winston-Salem has suffered some critical injuries this week. On Wednesday, shortstop Tim Anderson (right wrist) and right-hander Frank Montas (right knee) were placed on the disabled list. That night, Courtney Hawkins suffered a concussion and joined Anderson and Montas on the disabled list Thursday. Thus, the Dash lost two first-round picks and a pitcher who was supposed to suit up for the World Team in next weekend's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

DASH DOTS Winston-Salem turned in its 20th errorless game on Saturday...Righty Angel Sanchez makes his Dash and White Sox debut after spending time with two Double-A clubs this season...Sanchez was 0-8 with a 6.88 ERA in Jacksonville (Miami) and 0-1 with an 8.00 ERA in Montgomery (Tampa Bay) during those two stops.
