Winning Streak Ends in Series Opener

(Clinton-IA)- The Burlington Bees saw their three game winning streak snapped in game one of a three game series, 4-2 to the Clinton LumberKings at Ashford University Field in Clinton.

Clinton struck first, scoring two runs in the first inning on three hits and one error, to take a 2-0 lead.

Kody Eaves put the Bees on the board in the third inning with a solo homer to right, his sixth of the year, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

The Bees tied the game in the fourth when Eric Aguilera hit his team leading seventh home run of the year, tying the game at two.

Clinton grabbed the lead for good in the eighth inning thanks to a Austin Wilson two run triple that would eventually lead to the LumberKings 4-2 win.

Clinton reliever Aaron Brooks (3-2) picked up the win while Bees' reliever Trevor Foss (2-5) was charged with the loss. Emilio Pagan (9) earned the save.

The Burlington Bees (34-30) and the Clinton LumberKings (30-33) continue their three game series on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Daniel Hurtado makes the start for the Bees against Lars Huijer of Clinton.
