Wings Six-Game Homestand Begins Friday Night

ROCHESTER, NY (Thursday, July 24) - With less than 40 games remaining in the regular season, the Red Wings return to Rochester in the thick of a playoff race to open an action-packed six-game homestand at Frontier Field. Concerts, fireworks, giveaways, Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven and an appearance from the Famous Chicken all highlight the upcoming homestand.

It all gets underway on Friday night (7:15 first pitch; 6:00 gates) with the opener of a four-game set against the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates). The first 2,500 fans will receive a magnet of 2013 IL MVP Chris Colabello courtesy of Dr. Michael Mayer. The first 2,500 fans will also get a free NASCAR mini-car presented by Monroe Muffler.

Friday's action is topped off with a post-game fireworks show courtesy of Flower City Printing.

Saturday night there's a tripleheader at Frontier Field. For the price of one Red Wings ticket, fans will be treated to Game Two of the Wings and Indians series (6:05 first pitch; 5:00 gates) followed by an RPO concert presented by Monroe County and Messenger Post Media and then fireworks courtesy of ESL Federal Credit Union!

As if all that wasn't enough, the Famous Chicken will be at the ballpark all night long entertaining fans young and old courtesy of the Invisible Fence Brand.

Sunday (1:05 first pitch; 12:00 gates) is Latino Day at the ballpark featuring a post-game concert from "El Canario" Jose Alberto presented by McDonald's, RocOn Times and the City of Rochester Puerto Rican Festival.

As always, all kids will be able to run the bases with Wings' mascots Spikes and Mittsy following the game courtesy of The Burger Bar at Pittsford Wegmans.

The Indianapolis series wraps up on Monday night (7:05 first pitch; 6:00 gates) with an appearance from former Twins great and Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven presented by Legacy Financial Planning, LLC. Blyleven will be signing autographs from 6-6:45 p.m. and from 7:10-8:00 p.m. along the first base side of the concourse.

As is the case every Monday night at Frontier Field, the first 500 kids 12 and under will Eat Free courtesy of Basch & Nickerson.

The Wings welcome the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) to town on Tuesday (7:05 first pitch; 6:00 gates) for a brief two-game series that kicks off with a Christmas in July celebration at the ballpark presented by Wilbert's Christmas Tree Farm.

The homestand wraps up with a special morning start on Wednesday (11:05 a.m. first pitch; 10:00 gates) for Camp Day.
