After rain suspended play in the bottom of the fourth inning last night, the IronPigs (49-55) will essentially play two games to complete a two-game, home series against the (tied for) second-place Pawtucket Red Sox (49-52), who currently tied for the Wild Card lead... With a 7-6 loss to Buffalo last night, the Pigs were swept in the two-game, home series and have now dropped three straight contests following a three-game winning streak. Lehigh Valley has gone just 20-30 since May 30 -- falling from second place and 0.5 GB in the North to last place and 11.5 GB... Pawtucket -- Boston's top affiliate -- won 9-3 at Syracuse on Tuesday to sweep a two-game set against the first-place Chiefs. The Paw Sox are riding a season-high, seven-game winning streak and have won 11 of their last 13 affairs since July 7, going from fourth place and 8.5 GB to second place and 4.0 GB... The Pigs next start a four-game series in Buffalo (50-53) on Friday.

Tonight's game features a 80's Style Jersey Auction, presented by Brown Daub Kia... First-Pitch of Game 1 is at 6:05 p.m...

PICK UP RIGHT WHERE WE LEFT OFF:

Game 1 will resume with DH Russ Canzler batting with two outs and bases empty in the B4, with PAW leading 3-2... LHP Ryan Verdugo will take over for PAW on the mound. The 27-year-old started his season in Omaha (5-2, 4.24 in 9 GS) before being acquired from KC for cash considerations on 7/16. He's made 1 ML start in his career with KC, 7/17/12 vs. SEA (L, 1.2 ip, 8 h, 6 r, 6 er, 2 bb, 2 k; hr-Smoak)... Meanwhile, PAW will start the T5 with 2-3-4 due up against RHP Ethan Martin, who's been unscored upon in his last 5 G (9.2 IP).
