TONIGHT'S GAME: The Red Wings 8-game, South Division road trip wraps up Thursday night with a 7:05 p.m. game against the first-place Durham Bulls from DBAP. After last night's victory, the Wings have now won two straight and are 3-4 on the trip. Still, the Wings are just 5-9 over their last 14 games and sit in a tie for 2nd place in the North Division -- 4.0 GB of Syracuse. The Bulls, despite losing two in a row, have won 8 of 13 and are 11-7 in the month of July after going just 11-18 in June. Durham enters play tonight with a comfortable 9.5-game lead in the IL South.

¡úThe Wings are 3 games (2-1) into a tough finishing stretch where they play 24 of their final 42 games against the 3 division leaders, SYR (8), DUR (8) & IND (8), who are currently a combined 31 games over .500.

WITH A WIN TONIGHT...:

¡úThe Wings will have their first 3-game winning streak since a 6-game streak, June 29-July 4.

¡úThe Wings will win their second straight series in Durham after not winning a single series their first 16 trips to DBAP.

MAY DAY: Red Wings RHP Trevor May makes his second start since coming off the disabled list (right calf strain) and his 16th of the season for the Red Wings. May worked just 3.0 innings (47 pitches) allowing one run on 3 hits on Saturday @ NOR in his first action in almost a month. If he had enough innings to qualify, May would rank 7th in the IL in ERA (2.94), 1st in BAA (.206), 3rd in WHIP (1.14), and 3rd among IL starters in SO/9IP (9.15). Over his last 8 starts prior to the calf injury suffered on June 21 @ BUF, May was 7-1, 1.78 ERA (10 ER/50.2 IP).

¡úMay has allowed 5 or fewer hits in 12 of 15 starts this season and has yielded 3 or fewer hits in 7 of 15 GS.

¡úThe Twins 8th ranked prospect is just 3-4 with a 5.18 ERA in 7 road starts this season (5-1, 1.45 ERA in 8 home starts).

PRESSLY PROMOTED: Red Wings reliever Ryan Pressly was recalled by Minnesota on Thursday after leading all Wings relievers in appearances (35), innings (60.1) and saves (6) through the first 105 games this season. Over his last 7 outings, Pressly posted a 1.42 ERA (2 ER/12.2 IP) with 16 strikeouts and only 2 walks. Overall, Pressly was 1-4 with 6 saves and a 2.98 ERA. Claimed in the 2012 Rule 5 Draft from Boston, Pressly spent all of last season with the Twins posting a 3.87 ERA in 49 appearances -- his 76.2 IP were the 6th-most by a rookie reliever in club history.

RODRIGUEZ A RED WING: Taking Pressly's roster spot is OF Reynaldo Rodriguez promoted from Double-A New Britain where he was hitting .308 with 32 doubles, 14 homers and 47 RBI in 98 games. At the time of promotion, Rodriguez, an Eastern League midseason All-Star, ranked among EL leaders in batting (7th), GP (T-2nd), 2B (1st), SLG (3rd, .521), XBH (2nd, 47), R (3rd, 62) & TB (4th, 186). The former Yankees and Red Sox farmhand in his second season in the Twins system has 12 games of Triple-A experience with Pawtucket in 2012.

FOR STARTERS: Over the first three games of this series, Red Wings starters (Sean Gilmartin, Mark Hamburger and Alex Meyer) have allowed just 4 runs (3 ER) on 14 hits (12 singles, 2 doubles) and 0 walks while striking out 26 in 19.0 innings! The last two nights, Hamburger and Meyer have thrown a combined 13 scoreless innings allowing just 9 hits (all singles) with 17 strikeouts. Wings starters have now turned in 4 straight "quality starts" for just the second time all season and the first since a season-high 5-game streak, April 27-May 3.

STRIKEOUT ARTISTS: After striking out a season-high 16 Wednesday night, the Wings have now punched out 41 hitters over the first three games of their series with Durham -- spanning 28 innings. The Wings 829 strikeouts this season rank second in the IL behind Durham's 904.

WINGS THINGS: The Wings lead the IL in doubles with 222 on the season -- 15 more than any other team in the league...Deibinson Romero ranks 1st in the IL with 29 doubles (a career-high for him)...Eric Farris leads the Wings with 8 OF assists (5 more than any other Red Wing) -- with all of them coming on the road. His perfect 1.000 fielding % is best in the IL among OF...The Wings have been run on an IL-least 59 times this season (24 of 59; .407).

MORE ABOUT LAST NIGHT...:

¡úThe Wings won a game when trailing after 8 innings for the first time all season (1-39). ROC was the last team in the IL yet to win a game when trailing after 8...Earlier on the trip (7/18 @ NOR), ROC lost their 1st game this season when leading after 8 (43-1).

¡úThe Wings scored 3 runs in extra innings last night after scoring just 2 runs in extras in their first 6 extra-inning games this year.

¡úAll 6 of Rochester's runs were unearned due to 5 Durham errors.
