
Wingnuts snap Saltdogs win streak

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Saltdogs 6-3 in Lincoln on Friday night, snapping the Saltdogs' seven-game winning streak.
Brad Davis allowed just two earned runs in six innings and Gustavo Mata, Amad Stephens and Byron Embry each provided a scoreless inning of relief. Both Stephens and Embry - who now leads the league with five saves - have yet to allow a run this season. The Wingnuts were aided by five Lincoln errors and Blake Gailen hit his first home run of the season. Kevin Hooper scored three runs for Wichita.
With tonight's loss by St. Paul, the Wingnuts - now 10-6 - trail the Saints by just a 1/2 game for first place in the North Division. The Wingnuts and Saltdogs will battle again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. in Lincoln. There will not be a radio broadcast.
