In the first game of a doubleheader, Grand Prairie edged Shreveport 3-2. The AirHogs jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning before Shreveport answered with two in the home half of the second inning. Grand Prairie added on a run in the third inning on singles by SS Paul Bartolucci, LF Aaron Garza and CF Drew Holder. Justin Garcia did not allow a man to reach base during a scoreless ninth. It was his first save of the year.

Shreveport 3, Grand Prairie 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In the second game of the doubleheader, Shreveport was victorious 3-2. DH Chad Gambill's homerun in the bottom of the sixth was the difference. It was his second round tripper of the season. Matt Pilgreen pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief of starter Daniel Welch to get the win. Stopper Trey Poland collected his third save of the year as he pitched a scoreless seventh inning to end the game.

The game between El Paso and Pensacola was postponed due to rain. It will be played as part of a doubleheader (2 seven inning games) on Saturday May 24 beginning at 5:05PM.

Sioux Falls 3, Sioux City 0

Sioux Falls beat Sioux City 3-0 as Travis Kane hurled seven scoreless innings for his first win of the season. The Canaries took advantage of Sioux City miscues and sprinkled in some timely hitting to produce two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth. After 3B Grant Richardson drew a leadoff walk, SS Tim Hutting doubled to left. LF Beau Torbert's grounder to third plated Richardson for a 1-0 lead and Hutting scored on DH Will Smith's single to right. In the fourth an error and a wild pitch put a runner at second base before RF Ben Van Iderstine singled up the middle for the Canaries third run. Closer Kris Regas came on for his seventh appearance of the season and earned his fourth save as he retired the Explorers in order to end the game. He has yet to allow a run in seven innings of relief.

Wichita ended Lincoln's seven game winning streak with a 6-3 road triumph. The Wingnuts tallied only five hits but took advantage of five Lincoln errors in the game. Trailing 3-2 in the sixth inning, a single, a sacrifice, a stolen base and two Saltdog errors helped the Wingnuts score twice for a 4-3 lead. They added a single run in the seventh inning on three walks and an error and one more in the ninth on SS Kevin Hooper's steal of home. Brad Davis allowed two earned runs in six innings to get the win. Closer Byron Embry worked the ninth inning for his fifth save.

Fort Worth 2, St. Paul 1

Veteran lefty Pedro Flores out-dueled fellow southpaw Luis Villarreal as Fort Worth beat St. Paul 2-1. Flores scattered five hits and struck out eight batters over seven innings to keep his record perfect at 3-0. Villarreal was nearly as good allowing two runs on seven hits over seven innings. Fort Worth put runners on second and third in the top of the fourth when 1B Jake Gautreau's double to right was followed by a bloop hit off the bat of SS Nilson Teilon. An RBI groundout by LF Ed Montague and single to right by DH John Allen produced all the runs Fort Worth would need. Cats closer Jon Hunton worked a one, two, three ninth inning for his fourth save.
