Lincoln earned their seventh straight victory and a three game sweep of the Sioux Falls Canaries by a 2-1 count. The Saltdogs won the game in the bottom of the ninth with three straight singles off Sioux Falls starter Ben Moore. RF Corey Harrington had the game winner, a line drive down the left field line that scored 1B Mario Delgado. The game was a pitchers duel with Moore going the distance and taking the loss to fall to 2-1 while Ryan Dittfurth tossed two scoreless innings of relief for his first win. Brian Campbell started for Lincoln and was outstanding as well, allowing just one run over seven innings of work. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pensacola 9, Shreveport 8 (10 Innings)

Designated hitter Matt Peli gave Pensacola a dramatic win with a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 10th inning the Pelicans downed the Shreveport Sports 9-8. Pensacola broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning by scoring four times only to see Shreveport rally for four in the ninth to send the game into extra innings. The Sports took the lead in the tenth inning when DH Adam Hale doubled to center field and Deacon Burns singled him home. Shreveport reliever Trey Poland allowed a single to C Billy Cox to put a man on and set the stage for Peli's blast over the right field wall. Carl Scheafer picked up the win for the Pelicans, working 2/3 of an inning. 2B Ron Fenwick has a fine game in a losing effort, finishing 3-for-4 with three batted in. 1B Brandon Sing homered and finished with three hits and three RBI for Pensacola.

Grand Prairie 12, El Paso 5

Grand Prairie turned on the power and hit four homeruns on their way to a 12-5 win over the El Paso Diablos. Long balls by LF Aaron Garza and C JB Tucker in the first inning put the AirHogs ahead 3-0. A solo shot by 3B Edwin Maldonado and a two run RBI single by 1B Derek Nicholson gave Grand Prairie a 6-0 cushion. Trailing 7-1 El Paso made their charge by scoring three in the top of the fourth inning but Grand Prairie answered back with a run in their half of the inning plus two more in the fifth and seventh innings to cruise to victory. Despite allowing five runs in six innings Kieran Mattison walked away with his second win of the year. Adam Blackley was knocked around for eight runs in four innings and fell to 1-1 on the season. In addition to the homeruns, Grand Prairie got three hit nights from Nicholson and SS Paul Bartolucci.

Fort Worth used a big fifth inning to break open a 2-0 game and beat Wichita 11-3. The Cats benefited from two wild pitches and a walk by pitcher Demetri White which, along with two singles in the inning, led to four runs crossing the plate and a 6-0 Fort Worth advantage. Joel Kirsten was solid on the mound for the Cats tossing seven innings to pick up the win. The heart of the batting order came through all night for the Cats as the three through five hitters in the order finished a combined 5-for-11 with four runs scored and seven RBI.

Sioux City 6, St. Paul 4

Sioux City held off St. Paul 6-4 and earned their second straight victory. Timothy Layden pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing just one run for the win. Brett Reid earned his fourth save. Leading 1-0 Sioux City scored five times in the middle frames and led 6-2 after seven and a half innings. St. Paul got two in the eighth but left men at second and third to fall short of tying the game. 2B Nick McCoola led the way offensively for Sioux City going 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI. DH Dustin Jones chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored as well.
