December 6, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Windy City Bulls News Release

The Windy City Bulls presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell to the Agua Caliente Clippers Thursday Night at Toyota Arena in Ontario, 105-102.

The Clippers got out to a strong start at home hitting .636 of their shots, knocking down 5-for-11 from the three-point line, and getting in the paint to convert easy twos. Los Angeles Clippers Two-Way player Jonathan Motley kicked things off for Agua Caliente with 10 quick points, coming mostly down low.

In addition to Motley, Los Angeles Clippers Assignment player Mfiondu Kabengele chipped in ten points and five rebounds in the first half, finding the range on 2-for-5 from beyond the arc to help build an 18 point lead for Agua Caliente.

In the second quarter however Windy City came roaring back, stepping up the intensity on defense as the Bulls forced 17 Clippers turnovers in the first half on their way to 29-9 scoring run.

With multiple players contributing to the Windy City comeback, Chicago Bulls Two-Way player Adam Mokoka led the way with 11 points on 4-for-5 from the field, and 2-for-3 from long range, to go along with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Denver Nuggets Two-Way player P.J. Dozier dropped in eight first half points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals of his own, as the Bulls dominated the second stanza on their way to turning a 18 point deficit into a two point lead at half, 46-44.

The two squads played the third quarter relatively even, but continued turnovers by Agua Caliente helped Windy City grow their lead to 72-66 going into the final frame.

The fourth quarter was tightly contested as well, but the Clippers two big men, Motley and Kabengele, proved too much for the Bulls to handle. Motley finished the game with 27 points, five rebounds and seven assists on 8-for-15 shooting. Kabengele ended with a double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) to go along with five blocks and 4-for-8 from three.

Windy City ended with a total of seven players in double figures led by Mokoka with 15 points, followed by Dozier, Milton Doyle, and Simi Shittu with 14 points each.

The Bulls also won points in the paint (66-40), fast break points (31-14), and bench points (45-31), but it wasn't enough to grab the victory, as the Clippers hit key free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Windy City (5-5), will finish up their west coast road trip against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Sunday night.
