January 20, 2022 - NBA G League (G League)
Windy City Bulls News Release
The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, couldn't keep up with the Maine Celtics, falling 111-97 on the road Thursday night. Scottie Lindsey and Marko Simonović led the Bulls in scoring with 16 points apiece.
Windy City and Maine were neck and neck throughout most of the first two quarters. The Celtics held a 33-29 advantage after the opening 12 minutes, and the Bulls stayed within striking distance for the majority of the second quarter. But Maine took its first double-digit lead of the game with 45 second left in the first half as part of a 12-2 end to the half for the Celtics.
The Celtics maintained their lead in the third quarter, taking a 92-71 edge into the fourth period. In the fourth quarter, the Bulls chipped away at Maine's lead but ran out of time, falling to the Celtics 111-97.
Simonović notched a double-double with 10 rebounds to go along with his 16 points. Bryce Alford finished with 15 points for Windy City, while Daniel Oturu and Kerwin Roach II each put up 12 points. Ethan Thompson was the sixth Bull to score in double figures, recording 10 points.
Brodric Thomas led all scorers with 21 points on 5-for-8 shooting. John Bohannon came off the bench for the Celtics to grab a game-high 15 rebounds and score four points.
The Bulls move to 2-4 in the regular season, while Maine sits at 3-3.
This was the first game of a three-game road trip for Windy City. Next, the Bulls have a pair of games against the Capital City Go-Go Jan. 22 and 24. Tip-off for both games is set for 6 p.m. and both will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com.
