Stars Sweep Two-Game Set against Hustle

SALT LAKE CITY - MaCio Teague posted a career high 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field as he led the Salt Lake City Stars (3-3) to their third straight home win and the Stars completed a two-game, back-to-back sweep of the Memphis Hustle (2-4) on Wednesday night.

Zylan Cheatham, who was added to the Stars roster hours before tipoff, started the game with a ferocious dunk in what turned out to be a dominant 14 point and 15 rebound night for the Utah Jazz assignment player.

Carsen Edwards (20 points and five assists) and Jared Wilson-Frame (17 points five rebounds and four assists) each scored 12 points in the first half as the Stars led 61-52 at the break.

The long ball made the difference in the second half as the Hustle went 0-for-7 from deep in the third quarter and 2-for-15 in the second half, while the Stars knocked down 7 of their 19 three-point attempts after halftime.

Derrick Alston Jr. scored eight of his 20 points in the final frame as the Stars were in cruise-control in the fourth quarter, on their way to a 120-98 victory over the Hustle.

Ahmad Caver and Cameron Young each scored 18 points to lead the way for the Hustle and Shaq Buchanan just missed a triple-double with 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Stars will hit the road for a two-game set against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers before heading to Stockton for a showdown with the Kings.

The next Stars home game will be Jan. 28 at Vivint Arena, home of the Utah Jazz, as the Stars will host the Oklahoma City Blue.
