EDINBURG, Texas (Jan. 19, 2022) - The Austin Spurs fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers by a final score of 112-100 on Wednesday night.
Two-way player Devontae Cacok posted his 12th straight double-double for Austin dating back to Showcase Cup play with 21 points and 11 rebounds, earning the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in franchise history. With Devontae Cacok's 12th straight double-double tonight, he now holds the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in Austin franchise history.
Aric Holman also notched a double-double for the Spurs with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Anthony Mathis put up 20 points.
San Antonio Spurs assignee Josh Primo recorded 12 points and 2 assists.
Daishen Nix led Rio Grande Valley with 24 points. Usman Garuba finished with a double-double in the Vipers' win with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
The 2021-22 Austin Spurs season is presented by SWBC.
NEXT UP The Austin Spurs will return home on Friday, Jan. 21 to take on the Memphis Hustle at 7:30 p.m. CT for the team's Military Appreciation Night.
