Windy City Beats Charge, Advances to Winter Showcase Championship

Windy City Bulls News Release
The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Cleveland Charge 96-94 Tuesday night in the Winter Showcase Semifinal at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Bulls advanced to the Winter Showcase Championship where they will face the Ontario Clippers.
Windy City jumped out to a quick six-point lead to end the first quarter. The Bulls went up 48-36 -- doubling the lead by the half -- after holding the Charge to just 18 points in each of the first two quarters.
For this year's Winter Showcase, the G League introduced a Final Target Score. The game clock shuts off after the third quarter and 25 points is added to the leading team's score to make the Target Score.
Windy City led 70-65 at the end of the third quarter, making the target score 95. After battling it out with the Charge in the fourth quarter, the two teams found themselves tied 94-94. Chicago Bulls Two-Way guard Carlik Jones hit a mid-range jumper to win the game.
Windy City guard Ethan Thompson led the Bulls with 22 points, four rebounds and four assists off the bench. Chicago Bulls Assignment forward Dalen Terry and Jones had 15 points apiece.
Cleveland Charge center Mamadi Diakite went 12-for-21 from the field, leading the Charge with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Cleveland Cavaliers Two-Way forward Isaiah Mobley chipped in 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
With the win, Windy City improved to 12-6 on the season, while Cleveland fell to 12-6.
Next up, the Bulls take on the Ontario Clippers for the Showcase Cup Championship. The game is slated to be at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
