
Williams' Walk-Off Single Lifts Pigs in 13th

Nick Williams' walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 13th lifted the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (48-36) to an 8-7 win over the Charlotte Knights (39-46) on Sunday night at Coca-Cola Park.
In the bottom of the 13th, Emmanuel Burriss reached second with one out on a dropped fly ball by Knights RF Louis Silverio and scored on Williams' (3-7, 2B, RBI, R) single.
1B Brock Stassi (1.0 IP) earned the win for the Pigs with a perfect inning of relief to move to 1-0 on the year.
LHP Brian Clark (1.1 IP, H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB) was dealt the loss for Charlotte and drops to 0-1 on the season.
Jason Bourgeois' solo shot in the top of the 10th off of LHP Elvis Araujo (2.0 IP, H, R, ER, 2 K) gave Charlotte a 7-6 lead for the time being.
Logan Moore came through with a solo shot of his own off of RHP Matt Lollis (2.0 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 2 K) in the home half of the inning to knot things at seven apiece. The home run was Moore's third of the season.
The Pigs had tied things at six apiece in the bottom of the ninth when Andrew Knapp reached with a one-out single, advanced to second on a walk and scored on Cedric Hunter's RBI single.
Leury Garcia's solo shot off of Pigs starter Phil Klein in the top of the first gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead.
Charlotte extended the lead to 2-0 with a run in the second when Omar Narvaez led off with a single and scored from first on Jake Peter's RBI double.
The IronPigs cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom half of the frame as David Lough (2-6, 2 2B, R) led off with a double to left and later scored on Taylor Featherston's (2-6, RBI) RBI single.
It was the first multi-double game for Lough since he collected three two-baggers on June 30, 2013 for the Royals.
In the top of the third, Jacob May led off with a single, stole second, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on Bourgeois' RBI groundout to give the Knights a 3-1 advantage.
Klein (n/d) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while fanning one in 3.0 IP.
Hunter's (2-6, HR, 4 RBI, R) three-run shot off of Charlotte starter Anthony Ranaudo in the bottom of the third gave the Pigs a 4-3 lead for the time being. The home run was Hunter's sixth of the season.
Ranaudo (n/d) gave up the four runs (three earned) on eight hits to go along with a walk and eight strikeouts in five innings of work.
The back-and-forth affair continued with a three-run fourth for Charlotte to open up a 6-4 lead for the visitors. Danny Muno came through with an RBI double in the frame while Tony Campana knocked home a run via an RBI single and Marcus Lemon plated a run with an RBI groundout.
All three runs were charged to Lehigh Valley RHP Colton Murray (1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB).
The Pigs cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh as Knapp drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on an error charged to Knights LHP Matt Purke (1.2 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, K) took third on a wild pitch from LHP Will Lamb (1.0 IP, K) and scored on the second wild pitch of the inning from Lamb.
RHP Frank Herrmann (2.0 IP, H, 2 K), RHP Dalier Hinojosa (2.0 IP, 2 K) and RHP Edward Mujica (2.0 IP, K) each had scoreless outings in relief for manager Dave Brundage's squad.
The Pigs will open a two-game set with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Monday night at PNC Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as LHP James Russell (2-4, 4.28) gets the ball for the IronPigs against RailRiders RHP Luis Severino (4-0, 3.16).
