Indianapolis Indians News Release
TOLEDO, OHIO - Trevor Williams allowed just one hit and faced the minimum over his seven innings, and the Indianapolis Indians took the series finale from the Toledo Mud Hens on Sunday evening, 2-0.
Williams (3-4) only needed 84 pitches to navigate his seven frames and earn the win. He struck out five batters, and the right-hander did not issue a free pass. The lone hit against him came in the bottom of the second inning.
Indianapolis (44-40) took an early lead with a run in the first inning. Alen Hanson reached on an infield single to start the frame. He then stole second and third base, and scored on Jason Rogers' sacrifice fly to right field.
The lead was doubled in the seventh. Jose Osuna led off with a double to center field, his third two-bagger in the last two days. He moved to third on a grounder, and then scored on a single by Danny Ortiz.
Matt Boyd (2-5) started for Toledo (36-47) and took the loss. He allowed just one run over his six innings of work.
The Indians now head back to Victory Field to open a five-game homestand on Independence Day.
