Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JUNE 3, 2010) - The Winston-Salem Dash today announced that infielder Drew Garcia and outfielder Kenny Williams, Jr. have been activated off the seven-day disabled list. Both players are in the starting lineup for tonight's game against the Kinston Indians. In a corresponding roster move, infielder Zach Kayne has been re-assigned to low-A Kannapolis.

Garcia has missed the last 18 games after injuring his right ankle at Lynchburg on May 14. Hillcats pitcher Mark Serrano attempted to pick off Garcia at second base and Garcia twisted his ankle stepping onto the bag. He was hitting .323 with four home runs and 30 RBI at the time of the injury.

Williams sat out the last 35 games after he suffered a strained knee in a game against Frederick on April 27. He was attempting to make a sliding catch in foul territory when his spike got caught in the turf, causing the injury. Williams was hitting .233 with one home run and seven RBI in 18 games before he got hurt.

Kayne appeared in two games for the Dash, going 0 for 3. He was promoted to Winston-Salem from Kannapolis on May 17 to fill Garcia's roster spot.

The Dash roster has reached the Carolina League limit of 25 players.

The first-place Dash returns to BB&T Ballpark for a four-game home stand against the Kinston Indians tonight at 7 p.m.

The Winston-Salem Dash is the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. To purchase tickets and for more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com.
