Who's ready for more of that Playoff hockey? It will be hard to top Game 1 for excitement - some early tempers flared, lots of big hits were thrown, and we had a Cats comeback topped off by an OT winner by Jonas Taibel.
Seven different Wildcats hit the scoresheet Friday night. Veteran Charles Beaudoin led the way with 3 assists, while Alex Mercier (2G) Miles Müller (2A) & Étienne Morin (2A) had 2-point nights. Yoan Loshing added a powerplay strike and Taibal played hero in overtime, with Trent Ballentyne's assist.
Goalie Jacob Steinman was superb with 35 saves on 38 shots.
The Wildcats definitely want to head into the trio of games in Baie-Comeau with a 2-0 series stranglehold. The Centre Henry-Leonard is a tough place for visitors so these early home ice wins are almost essential to sink the Drakkar. Luckily, the Cats are halway there with Friday's victory. Let's do it agian tonight!
