Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers' game against the Stockton Thunder was all but over, with only one goal scored in 57 minutes of play tonight, until four goals in the final three minutes gave the Thunder a 3-2 win over Las Vegas to split the two-game road series.

Wranglers center Chris Francis collected a power play goal for his first of the season at 17:33 in the first with assists from defenseman Mike Madill and forward Judd Blackwater. Both Las Vegas goaltender Joe Fallon and Stockton goaltender Thomas Heemskerk kept the score at 1-0 for almost the entire game afterward. The second period saw only shots and saves, with Fallon stopping 19 and Heemskerk saving 10 shots.

With 3:05 left in the third period, Thunder forward Bretton Cameron got one past Fallon to tie the game 1-1. Two minutes later, Thunder center Ryan Martindale tallied his first goal of the season on a power play to put Stockton up 2-1 with 62 seconds left in regulation. He was assisted by defensemen Nathan Deck and Mike Little. Not to be outdone, Wranglers forward Eric Lampe tied the game up 2-2 with his own goal 16 seconds later. Overtime seemed certain until Cameron secured the win for Stockton with his second goal of the night in the last 11 seconds of the game with assists from Thunder left wing Jordan Fulton and Deck. Tonight's final score was 3-2 for the Thunder.
