
Wild Things Swept in Double Header

Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things (38-44), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, lost both games of a double header (6-4 and 8-5) against the Windy City Thunderbolts (47-35).
Game one picked up where it left off in Windy City, with Chris Raniere on second and one out for the Wild Things in the top of the third. Washington trailed 2-0, but a single and fielder's choice scored Raniere.
The Wild Things scored two in the fourth on an overthrow and another in the sixth on a wild pitch. Windy City answered with two in the fourth and one in the fifth, giving them a 5-4 lead. An additional run in the eighth sealed a 6-4 game one victory for the Thunderbolts.
In game two, Windy City took a 3-0 lead by the third inning from an RBI double in the second and a pair of doubles in the third.
The Wild Things cut their lead down to one run when Chris Sidick hit a triple that bounced off the center field wall in the fourth and scored on a sacrifice fly. Dempsey followed with a solo homerun.
Washington added three more runs in the sixth from an RBI single by Sidick and a two RBI double from Dempsey that tied the score at 5-5.
Two solo homeruns in the sixth and two in the seventh carried the Thunderbolts to their second win of the night, with the final at 8-5.
