
Wild Things Rally to Beat Paints 8-6

Washington , PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat to the Chillicothe Paints 8-6 at CONSOL Energy Park Friday night.
The Paints scored in the first inning when Adrian Cantu doubled to drive in Josh Blackstock.
Washington tied the game in the bottom of the second when Josh Eachues grounded out, driving in Chris Raber.
In the fifth inning Washington bats came to life when both Tim Alberts and Chris Sidick smacked solo home runs to give Washington the lead.
But Chillicothe jumped back in front with four runs in the sixth inning: Travis Garcia smacked a two run homer into left field, driving in Cantu. Jeff Vincent scored and Travis Storrer scored, putting the Paints up 5-3. They came back with another run in the seventh inning when Drew Saylor singled to drive in Garcia.
The Wild Things added a run in the eighth when Brad Arnett drove in Dempsey.
In the bottom of the ninth The Wild Things scored four runs. Eachues scored on a wild pitch; then Nathan Messner crushed a shot over the fence to drive in three runs, giving the Wild Things an 8-6 victory.
Joe D'Alessandro (1-0) got the victory for Washington , allowing two hits and striking out two in two innings.
The Wild Things and Paints meet for game two of this three game set Saturday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Air time on WJPA 95.3 F.M. is 6:55 p.m. The first 1,000 fans receive a baseball card strip. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park Box Office.
