Evansville Otters News Release
July 18, 2008, Evansville, Ind. - Evansville opened up the second half of the season, but a four run first inning led the Gateway Grizzlies to a 7-4 win. Trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, an Isaac Omura three run home run brought the game to 5-4, but that was as close as Evansville would get.
The Otters got another strong pitching performance from Billy Phillips (0-1) as he pitched seven innings in his second appearance. Grizzlie's pitcher Derek Blacksher (7-3) shut down the Evansville offense for much of the night, lasting 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs.
Evansville will play game two of this three game set tomorrow night at 7:05 with Adam Rogers on the mound for the Otters against 2008 All-Star lefthander Adam Revelette for the Grizzlies.
