
Wild Things Defeat Mid-Missouri to Take Sole Possession of First Place in the East Division

Washington Wild Things News Release
The Washington Wild Things (37-24), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank defeated the Mid Missouri Mavericks 5-3 at Taylor Stadium in Columbia, MO Saturday night.
Matt Swope, who went two for five, continued his hitting streak, with hits 21 consecutive games. Lance Koenig scored three runs. Graves stole two bases during the game.
J.D. Cockroft (3-2) gets the win, pitching six innings, allowing seven hits, three runs (all earned) walking three, and striking out four. B. J. Borsa and Jim Popp combined for the other three innings. Popp gets his ninth save of the season.
The Wild Things and Mavericks meet for game two of the three game set Sunday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Eastern time. Air time on WJPA 95.3 FM and www.msasports.net is 6:55 p.m.
