Evansville Otters News Release
Pete Pirman went 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBI and Josh Beshears went seven innings allowing three unearned runs as the Kalamazoo Kings defeated the Evansville Otters 8-3.
The Kings got on the board first in the second inning when Tim Brown came up to lead things off and hit a towering homer over the rightfield fence to give Kalamazoo a 1-0 lead. The Kings would add another run in the inning as well as one more in the third to go up 3-0.
The Otters would tie it in the bottom of the third inning one just one hit and a couple of errors by the Kings, including one by the catcher, Trevor Brown that allowed Denver Stuckey to score and tie the game at three.
Unfortunately the Otters were unable to muster anything off Beshears through seven innings and the Kings took advantage of rough play by the Otters in the seventh to score four runs, keyed by a bases loaded triple by Pete Pirman. The Kings added an insurance run in the ninth to create the 8-3 final.
Beshears (9-1) picked up the win for Kalamazoo. Cody Blackard (4-2) took the loss for the Otters.
Tomorrow is American General Finance fireworks night at the ballpark as well as Evansville Courier and Press Family day where fans can purchase up to six general admission tickets for $6 with the coupon on Thursday's paper. Game time is set for 6:05 p.m.
