Washington, PA: The Freedom headed out on a brief two game road trip to division leading Washington. Both teams came into the series hot, with Florence gaining some ground on the division leaders. Unfortunately that effort was stalled last night.
Down 3-0 heading into the fifth, the Freedom struck back. Beau Blacken tripled, driving in two runs in part of a four run inning. Ryan Basham continued his offensive resurgence with a two-run homerun in the seventh. Beau Blacken added another run on a sac fly, driving in Reggie Watson. Unfortunately, the Wild Things scored five runs in the ninth to win 8-7.
Jason Bowlin pitched well in his no decision, he went seven and a third, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out five. Greg Stone went 2-5 with an RBI and two runs scored out of the lead-off spot. Reggie Watson's batting average continues to approach .400, he went 2-3 with a double, RBI, run scored, and a stolen base. Ryan Basham continues to impress, he went 2-4 with his second homerun, two RBI, and two runs scored. Beau Blacken's one hit counted, he tripled and drove in three.
The Freedom conclude their series in Washington tonight at 7:05, you can listen to the action with Roger Redmon on 107.9 Class-X. Florence returns home to Champion Window Field tomorrow night to open up a six game homestand.
