Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA â The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, announced their television broadcast schedule Tuesday. The first baseball game to air on FSN Pittsburgh is scheduled for Thursday, June 9th when the Wild Things face the Freedom from Florence, Kentucky. Air time is 7:00 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
"We're delighted to have our games broadcast on Fox Sports," said managing partner, John Swiatek. "We have formed a great relationship with the folks from Fox, and as partners, we are able to showcase the Wild Things, who offer a different kind of entertainment to the viewing public. The Wild Things offer great baseball as well as lots of other things that appeal to the non-baseball fan. It's affordable family fun, and that's what we're all about!"
Stan Savran and Guy Junker will host the broadcast again this season.
Besides the June 9th contest between the Florence Freedom and the Washington Wild Things, FSN Pittsburgh will broadcast four other games; Florence and Washington again on July 16; the River City Rascals vs. the Wild Things on August 4th, and the Evansville Otters vs. the Wild Things on August 29th.
In addition to the games being broadcast on FSN Pittsburgh, the games will also be seen on FCS Atlantic (Fox College Sports Atlantic), which will increase the viewing audience from 2.6 million to 40 million homes. FCS Atlantic is available throughout the country to folks with digital programming.
The Frontier League All-Star Game, which will be contested at Falconi Field July 13th, will also be aired on FSN Pittsburgh tape delay the next day.
The Wild Things, the Florence Freedom and the Chillicothe Paints are in a three way tie for first place in the Eastern Division of the Frontier League.
