WhiteWings Fall in Game Two of Doubleheader

Harlingen, TX - The Amarillo Dillas (37-27) jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on to beat the Harlingen WhiteWings (17-45) 7-4 in game two of a doubleheader tonight at Harlingen Field.

The WhiteWings are now losers of ten-straight while the Dillas are winners of four-straight.

The Dillas got to Juan Jimenez (2-4) right away as Jonathan Reynoso led off with a double, and scored one out later on a Gary Schneidmiller single. After a Danny Bravo walk and an out, Sam McLain singled. Schneidmiller went to third and scored when Ryan Fox's throw to the plate went to the backstop, making it 2-0.

In the second, Stephen Douglas led off with his third home run of the season. One out later, Reynoso drew an eight-pitch walk and Keith Brachold singled. After an infield single by Schneidmiller, Bravos hit a two-run double to make it 5-0 Dillas.

The WhiteWings came flying back in the third against Jesse Rodriguez (1-5). Anthony Slagle led off by getting hit by a pitch and David Fowler followed with a single. Kevin Griffin was hit to load the bases and Amadeo Zazueta followed with a two-run double. One out later, Fox hit a two-run double to make it 5-4.

The Dillas picked up a pair of insurance runs in the seventh against Bobby Darling. With one out, Josh Ashton reached on an error and scored on and RBI-triple by Reynoso. Brachold followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 7-4.

Nathanael Mateo pitched a scoreless seventh for his first save.

The WhiteWings and Dillas complete the three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05. Right-hander Alex Gett (2-7) will face right-hander Marcos Castillo (7-4).
