Whitecaps, Wisconsin Washed Away

West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

APPLETON, WI - Saturday's scheduled ballgame between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers has been postponed due to significant thunderstorms causing power outage in the Appleton area.

Early Saturday afternoon, a thunderstorm featuring a tornado warning ripped through Outagamie County, causing minor damage throughout the local area and causing Fox Cities Stadium and its surroundings to lose power.

The first game of this three-game set is scheduled to be made up as part of a Sunday doubleheader beginning at 2:05 pm. Both games will last seven innings in duration, with a 30-minute break in-between contests. The postponement marks the eighth time this season that the Whitecaps have not played on an intended gameday, as second time due in-part to a power outage.
