
Whitecaps Gear Up for Final Homestand

The West Michigan Whitecaps are planning to end the regular season with a bang when they welcome the Fort Wayne TinCaps to town for a three-game series this weekend.
The homestand kicks off Saturday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Famous Chicken will be on hand to entertain the crowd during the game presented by the Gainey Corporation. In addition, the first 1,500 kids 14 and under will receive youth jerseys courtesy of Kowalski. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Fans will also want to stick around for the final regular season Farm Bureau Insurance fireworks show.
Saturday is also Kowalski Shirts off our Backs Night. Fans can register to win one of the Whitecaps' game worn jerseys right after the game. Also, fans are welcome to camp out on the field after the game. Set up your tent, roll out your sleeping bag and enjoy a baseball-themed movie.
As part of Fan Appreciation Weekend, the Whitecaps are offering $5 reserved seats for Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7.
Sunday is a Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free. Fans are also welcome to play catch on the field and get autographs from the team before the game and children can run the bases after the game, courtesy of Lake Michigan Credit Union. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
The regular season finale is set for Monday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. Monday is also JQ99 All Faiths Day. Fans can purchase half priced box or reserved seats when they show their church or community bulletin. This deal cannot be used in conjunction with the Fan Appreciation Weekend special.
The Whitecaps' first home playoff game is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 against the Great Lakes Loons at 7:00 p.m. Individual and group tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the West Michigan Glass Block Ticket Office at Fifth Third Ballpark, by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131 or by visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
