This season, the club is collaborating with creators and supporters from all over the neighbourhood to share their stories. This City is Vancouver, as told by the people who know it best.
The first two creators featured are local artists Boslen and DJ O Show.
Boslen is a 22-year-old hip-hop experimenter who was born in Chilliwack, BC and lives in Vancouver. Born to a father who is Jamaican and raised by his Indigenous-Canadian mother, Boslen played high-level rugby in his teenage years until a career-ending injury. He began his music career in Victoria, and today in Vancouver the city's people have become key to the way he understands himself and his art.
Orene Askew, known as DJ O Show, is an artist, DJ, and motivational speaker. She is two-spirited, born to a mother from the Squamish nation and an African-American father from Gary, Indiana. DJ O Show is a pillar of Vancouver's LGBTQ2+ community. Her goals are to lift up her community, spread her knowledge, and stand up for her land and heritage.
