NEW YORK - Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Camilo Sanvezzo was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week 20 of the 2013 MLS season.

Playing at home Sunday evening, Camilo Sanvezzo helped extend Vancouver's unbeaten streak to six, as he netted two goals in the 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire. With the brace, Camilo now leads the League in goals scored (12) this season.

Camilo opened the scoring in the 66th minute of play, when after receiving a punt from Brad Knighton on the right side of the pitch, Camilo went 1-v-1 with Fire defender Shaun Francis before turning him inside out and slotting a ball inside the far post.

Five minutes later, Camilo scored the eventual game winner. After collecting an excellent through ball behind the defense from Kekuta Manneh, he attempted to dribble the Fire goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi. After an initial save from Tornaghi, Camilo regained control of the ball and found the back of the net.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back in action Saturday, July 20 when they take on the LA Galaxy at The StubHub Center at 10:30 pm ET.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
