Whitecaps FC Celebrate Vancouver's 125th Birthday

Vancouver, BC - In honour of Vancouver's 125th birthday, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are pleased to announce a special limited offer for this Wednesday's match against New England Revolution. To celebrate the occasion, the first 125 people to buy a ticket online in the Teal and Aqua sections will receive their ticket for a price of $12.50, plus applicable service fees. The offer is available until 4 p.m. PT tomorrow at ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps under 'Vancouver 125'.

"With festivities happening throughout the city, our club wanted to do something special to celebrate Vancouver's 125th birthday," said Paul Barber, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer. "We encourage fans to act fast on this special offer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our first match under the lights at Empire Field."

Fans who attend the match will also partake in Vancouver's largest "Happy Birthday", with everyone at the stadium encouraged to sing along at the 12:50 mark of the match to commemorate the city's anniversary. The chief guests for the match will be representatives from the Vancouver Fire Department, Vancouver Police Department, and BC Ambulance Services. Gates open at 6 p.m. PT, with kick-off at 7 p.m. PT.

For those who can't make Wednesday's match, individual match tickets for the April 16 and April 23 matches at Empire Field are still available and range from $20 to $55 (including HST), plus applicable service charges and fees. Individual match tickets are available at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, online at ticketmaster.ca or Charge-by-Phone: 1.855.6.GO-CAPS (1.855.646.2277).

Following Wednesday's home match, Whitecaps FC travel to Texas for a first-ever meeting with two-time MLS Cup winners Houston Dynamo on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. PT and is live on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific and Bell mobile devices. 'Caps fans can also listen to the April 10 contest live on TEAM 1410 radio and teamradio.ca, starting with the pre-game show at 2 p.m. PT. TEAM 1410 will also have a two-hour post-game show, which will begin following the match at around 6 p.m. PT.
