
D.C. United Reserves to Play Maryland and Virginia

Washington, D.C. (April 5, 2011) - D.C. United announced today that the club's reserves will be taking part in truncated exhibition matches against local NCAA Division I institutions, University of Maryland and University of Virginia on Sunday, April 10 on the University of Maryland's campus in College Park, Md.
The club is scheduled to scrimmage Virginia at 12:00 p.m. for 45 minutes, immediately followed by a 45-minute friendly with Maryland at 1:00 p.m. Maryland and Virginia will faceoff at 2:00 p.m. in another half of play. Both Maryland and Virginia play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, with Maryland winning the ACC Championship in 2010.
Maryland, coached by Sasho Cirovksi, is hot off the heels of a strong 19-3-1 season led, in part, by current D.C. United defender Ethan White. Virginia enters the spring coached by George Gelnovatch and is coming off of a 11-6-3 season.
