Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC added another promising young player to the roster on Thursday, acquiring 19-year-old Ecuadorian attacking midfielder Pedro Vite via transfer from Independiente del Valle in his home country. Vite has agreed to a contract through 2025 and will occupy an international roster spot and MLS U22 Initiative spot. He will officially join the roster pending receipt of his work permit and visa.
"Pedro is a young player who at only 19 years of age has already shown tremendous upside in the early stages of his professional career," said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director and chief executive officer. "With his unique skills, especially his vision for the final pass, we believe that he will be a great addition to our roster. But he is a very young player, so we need to be patient with Pedro and help him to adapt to a new country and new league first."
