Timbers, Earthquakes Play to 1-1 Draw at Providence Park

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes played to a 1-1 draw at Providence Park on Wednesday night. The Earthquakes struck first midway through the first half, but the Timbers evened the score with a goal from Felipe Mora in the first-half stoppage time. Mora tallied his team-leading fifth goal of the regular season.

Mora tallied his team-leading fifth goal of the 2021 campaign, and seventh across all competitions. Notably, he has scored five goals in his last seven appearances for Portland. Overall, Mora has 12 goals and four assists in 31 MLS appearances for the Timbers.

Portland Against San Jose

Tonight's match was the 27th meeting between Portland (14-5-8) and San Jose (5-14-8), and the second of the 2021 campaign. The Timbers are undefeated against the Earthquakes at home in regular season play (10-0-4), and unbeaten across their last five competitions (4-0-2). POR - Felipe Mora (Bill Tuiloma, Yimmi Chara), 45+6 minute: Yimmi Chara curled a corner kick into the box, finding the head of Bill Tuiloma near the penalty spot. Tuiloma redirected it toward the far post, setting it up for Mora who flicked the ball into the corner of the goal with the outside of his foot.
