Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
The Brandon Wheat Kings are sad to announce the passing of Wheat Kings Hall of Famer, Glen Lawson.
"Our sincere condolences to the Lawson family" Said Wheat Kings Owner and Governor, Jared Jacobson. "Glen was a life-long Wheat King who exemplified the qualities of what it means to not only be a Wheat King, but a Wheat Kings Hall of famer and he will be truly missed."
Lawson was born and raised in Brandon and after playing junior hockey for the Wheat Kings in the mid fifties, and later coached a team in the Senior Big Six League and helped them to a provincial championship.
Following years of success behind the bench, Glen was instrumental in helping Brandon join the Western Canada Hockey League in 1967, where he served as the club's first official general manager.
