Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings welcomed fans back into Westoba Place for the first time in over eighteen months on Thursday night, dropping a 5-4 decision in an entertaining pre-season affair with the Winnipeg ICE.

Nolan Ritchie lead the way for Brandon, scoring twice and finishing the night 11 for 19 in the faceoff circle, while Riley Ginnell, fresh of rookie camp with the St.Louis Blues finished with a goal and an assist and three shots on goal.

Former Yellowhead Chief, Conor Geekie did the damage for the ICE, scoring once and adding an assist while defenseman Karter Prosofsky's first of the pre-season midway through the third period would hold up as the game winner for the ICE , who move to 2-1-0-0 on the pre-season.

Carberry, MB native Carson Bjarnason kicked aside 14 of 16 shots he faced in 29 minutes of action, while Nicholas Jones stopped 17 of 20 in his half of the game between the pipes for Brandon.

Daniel Hauser played the full game for Winnipeg, kicking aside 10 of 14 shots on a relatively slow night on the shot clock.
